Incahoots Farm is seeking a seasonal crew member for the 2024 season. The work on Incahoots Farm is diverse, ranging from field crop planting, hoophouse management, weeding, harvesting, packaging, to building and repairing farm infrastructure. The work is very labor intensive so the candidate should be able to perform physical tasks for a full work day in variable weather conditions. Some days will require you to work on a list of tasks independently or work in groups with us or volunteers. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, quick to adapt, and communicative about farm and personal needs.
Compensation:
Start at $10-$15/hour depending on experience level
20-30 Hours per week
May- Early November
End of season bonus based on sales and performance
Farmer food - you'll be swimmin' in veggies
Knowledge of market garden style farming
REQUIRED TASKS
The list below are common tasks the crew member will perform. This is not a full list but gives a good idea of what will be required. You do not need to know all of these, as we will train you. 1. Bed Preparation
Moving and spreading compost and fertilizer
Using hand tools to prepare the seedbed such as broadforking, hoeing, ect.
Assist in moving or pinning down large tarps
2. Transplanting 3. Weed management- weeding with hand tools, bare/gloved hands, or flame 4. Harvest of vegetables
Weighting and recording harvest
5. Wash/ Pack assistance
Washing of harvested vegetables
Properly labeling and packing items in bins and moving to/from cooler
Attention to food safety and cleanliness is a must
